ABOUT

Ojo Sarco, in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico is a rural mountain village located along the High Road to Taos. The Ojo Sarco Community Center and Library (OSCCL) was incorporated in 1988, when the Peñasco Independent School District sold the one-room schoolhouse to the village. Today, OSCCL provides programs and services for residents of Ojo Sarco, as well as for neighbors in Las Trampas, El Valle, Chamisal, Truchas and other rural communities along the High Road to Taos.

OSCCL is a 501(c)(3) organization. It serves as a community library providing access to borrow books and offers services such as guest Wi-Fi, scanning, printing, copying, and assistance with basic technology literacy and support. Community members use the space for gatherings, meetings, and parties. OSCCL strives to provide a place that fosters community pride and enriches the lives of the people of Ojo Sarco and surrounding communities through programs and activities. The OSCCL benefits from a solar installation donated by PPC Solar, Inc., which provides access to power during outages. Providing important access to internet, telephone, and medical equipment during emergencies designates the OSCCL as a Community Resiliency Site which is unique for our region.
